EMC verlängert Offerte für Data Domain
Neue Frist läuft bis 10. Juli 2009

EMC hat sein Angebot über 30 US-Dollar je Aktie in Cash für die Übernahme von Data Domain Inc. verlängert. Die Frist läuft nun bis zum 10. Juli 2009 (0.00 Uhr Eastern Daylight Time, EDT). Die ursprüngliche Frist sollte am 29. Juni ablaufen.

„EMCs Angebot über 30 US-Dollar je Aktie in Cash ist nach wie vor besser als NetApps Mischangebot aus Aktien und Bargeld“, erklärt Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman, President und CEO. „Ausserdem erhalten die Aktionäre von Data Domain damit einen garantierten und gesicherten Preis, was laut Management-Team und Vorstand in den Verhandlungen mit NetApp immer als Priorität galt. Wir erwarten eine Routineuntersuchung der FTC (Federal Trade Commission) mit fristgerechter Genehmigung.“

Die Transaktion wird von der Envoy Merger Corporation betreut, einer 100-prozentigen Tochter von EMC, die eigens für dieses Angebotsverfahren gegründet wurde. Etwa 174.645 Aktien von Data Domain wurden bis 15.30 Uhr EDT, 26. Juni 2009 angeboten. Das entspricht 0,28 Prozent der umlaufenden Aktien.
